Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, September 6, 2016.

Summary

Mortality rates observed during week 34 (August 22–28) remained stable at levels comparable to those expected for this period, across all ages and age groups (Figures 1–3). However, given the usual delays in data transmission, the mortality figures for this most recent week are still incomplete. Caution is therefore advised when interpreting these observations. In week 35 (August 29–September 4), 1,174 deaths were recorded via electronic certification; however, it is not possible to assess trends relative to previous weeks due to the low coverage rate for this source.
