Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, June 27, 2017.
Summary
Based on mortality data provided by INSEE, the observed number of deaths from all causes during week 24 (June 12–18, 2017) is comparable to the expected level among adults but has increased significantly among children under 15 years of age (Figure 3).This increase is observed more specifically in three regions (PACA, French Guiana, and Guadeloupe), although no specific conditions have yet been identified that could explain this rise. Given the usual delays in data transmission, the observed mortality figures are still incomplete. Caution is therefore advised when interpreting these findings at both the national and regional levels.
According to data from electronic certification, 1,325 deaths were recorded during week 25 of 2017 (June 19–25, 2017) (Figure 4).
