Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, July 7, 2015.

Summary

During the week of June 22–28, 2015 (Week 26, preceding the heat wave week), the number of deaths recorded by participating civil registry offices (accounting for 70% of national mortality) was in line with expected values, both across all ages and by age group (Figures 1–3).An assessment of the impact on mortality of the heat wave that began on June 29 is not yet available, given the usual delays in the transmission of mortality data and the fact that the heat wave is still ongoing. 691 deaths were certified electronically during week 27 (June 29 to July 5, 2015), a figure comparable to that of the previous week (Figure 4).
