Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, August 1, 2017.

Summary

According to mortality data provided by INSEE, the observed number of deaths, all causes and all ages combined, during week 29 (July 17–23, 2017) remains, at this stage, within the usual fluctuation ranges for this period, both for all ages and by age group (Figures 1–3).

Given the usual delays in data transmission, the mortality figures observed over these two weeks are still incomplete. Caution is therefore advised when interpreting these observations at both the national and regional levels.

According to data from electronic certification, 1,272 deaths were recorded during week 30 of 2017 (July 24–30, 2017).
