Health Monitoring in Corsica. Bulletin of June 18, 2025.
Key Points
Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika
In Corsica, since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1), 2 imported cases of dengue and 3 imported cases of chikungunya have been confirmed (no new cases compared to last week).
While the chikungunya outbreaks in Réunion and the dengue outbreaks in the French West Indies continue to impact surveillance in mainland France, the decline in viral circulation in these territories, particularly in Réunion, is reflected in the number of imported cases reported in recent days.
Note: Two unrelated local cases of chikungunya have been identified in southern France, one in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and the other in Occitanie.
Heatwave
No heat wave is currently underway or expected in Corsica in the coming days, despite rising temperatures.
Activity at emergency services and the SOS Médecins d’Ajaccio association remains stable, still slightly higher than in previous years.
Pollen
In Corsica, the pollen index, established by Atmo France and accredited air quality monitoring associations, remains at a high level, primarily due to grass pollen.
Allergy-related activity at the SOS Médecins association continues to decline and is on par with levels observed in previous years during the same period.
