Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of September 9, 2015.

Over the past week in the region:

  • As expected at this time of year with the start of the school year, there has been a gradual increase in nasopharyngitis and asthma attacks among children, linked to the circulation of rhinoviruses.

  • Based on reports recorded by the Angers Poison Control and Toxicovigilance Center, the InVS reported 12 cases of poisoning linked to mushroom ingestion in the region between June 29 and September 6, 2015. These cases represent 4% of the 313 cases reported in France during this period.

  • The year of surveillance for ARI and GEA outbreaks in nursing homes has concluded, with 228 ARI outbreaks and 107 GEA outbreaks. More than 6,000 residents were affected by these outbreaks. A detailed report will be published shortly in a Public Health Watch Bulletin.
