Key Points

Chikungunya

• Six new cases have been reported, bringing the total to 26 cases detected on the island since August 23, 2024. Two outbreaks are currently active: one in the West (L’Ermitage) and one in the South (Etang Salé les Hauts).

• In addition, 3 isolated cases have also been detected, one in the West and 2 in the South. The most recent case was confirmed with an onset date of 11/26/2024.

Acute respiratory infection

• End of the flu epidemic. The increase in emergency room visits for bronchiolitis is accelerating in S47.

Acute gastroenteritis

• Decrease in emergency department visits and hospitalizations, particularly among children under 5 years of age, following a resurgence the previous week.
