Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

No local transmission of dengue has currently been identified in Mayotte. However, active transmission of the virus has been detected in the Comoros. Given the population exchanges between the Comoros and Mayotte on the one hand, and between the Comoros and Réunion, particularly during this period of return from vacations, and taking into account the prevalence of asymptomatic forms of dengue as well as the presence of competent dengue-transmitting mosquitoes, the occurrence of local transmission of dengue cases remains likely in Mayotte and/or Réunion. The situation is being closely monitored.
