Chikungunya and Dengue in Réunion. Bulletin dated February 11, 2025.
Key Points
Since August 23, 2024, 783 cases of chikungunya have been reported on the island, including 671 in 2025.
The outbreak continues, with 204 cases detected in S05. Cases are now being reported in 19 municipalities. The municipalities of Etang Salé (199 cases since the start of the outbreak) and Le Tampon (179 cases, a sharp increase) continue to report the highest number of cases, but the number of cases is rising rapidly in other municipalities in the south and north.
Since the start of the year, dengue transmission has remained limited, with 5 cases detected in week 05, bringing the total number of cases in 2025 to 12.
However, a slight upward trend is observed.
