  • The epidemic began about a month earlier than in previous seasons

  • End of the 2020–2021 season in October, with higher viral circulation than in previous years during the inter-epidemic phase

  • Signs of a decline, but circulation levels remain high:

  • 39 emergency room visits recorded in Week 12

  • Sharp decline in the number of biologically confirmed RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) cases compared to Week 10 (19 in Week 12 vs. 33 in Week 10)

  • Increase in the proportion of bronchiolitis cases among the island’s sentinel physicians (1.9% in Week 12 vs. 1.0% in Week 11).

  • The current epidemic is longer in duration and involves a higher number of cases than previous epidemics.
