Mortality: The number of recorded deaths is in line with the figures typically observed during this period.
Emergency room visits by vulnerable populations: Emergency room activity for children under 1 year of age is significantly above expected levels, linked to the bronchiolitis outbreak. It remains stable for those aged 75 and older.
Notifiable Diseases (ND)A new cluster of hepatitis A cases, with transmission within families and in schools, highlighting the importance of implementing hygiene measures around a case.
Acute Gastroenteritis (AG)In Aquitaine, activity is rising and approaching expected levels. In France, SOS Médecins consultations for gastroenteritis are stable compared to the previous week
Influenza and influenza-like illnessesIncrease in consultations for influenza-like illnesses in outpatient care and hospitals. Influenza activity is rising among children under 15 (Oscour) and across all age groups (SOS Médecins). Pre-epidemic situation comparable to the 2012-2013 season.
Bronchiolitis: Epidemic activity. Increase in emergency department visits, with 21.6% of visits involving children under 2 years of age, and activity remains high at SOS Médecins, with nearly 10% of visits involving children under 2 years of age. Sharp rise in activity within the AquiRespi network, with 302 cases treated during the last on-call shift.
Enterovirus meningitis and virology: Increased circulation of seasonal respiratory viruses according to the Bordeaux University Hospital, particularly RSV and rhinovirus.
Mushroom poisoning (indicator not detailed in the body of the document)Since July, in Aquitaine, 104 cases according to CAPTV and 19 according to Oscour® (1,202 and 406 in France). Note: particular vigilance is required regarding the Bidaou species in the region, as consumption can lead to severe illness.
Carbon monoxide poisoning (as of 12/17/14) Since Sept. 2014, 16 episodes of CO poisoning affecting 66 people in Aquitaine. Nationwide, 12 deaths have been recorded since September 2014; of note is a mass poisoning incident involving 150 people linked to radiant heating panels in a church.
