COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Nouvelle-Aquitaine as of March 25, 2021

  • SARS-CoV-2 transmission remains active in the region: increased activity in Week 11.

  • In week 11 of 2021 (March 15–21), 9,645 new cases were confirmed in the region, marking a continued increase compared to the previous week. The incidence rate reached 160.8 cases per 100,000 residents, up from 134.1 in week 10 of 2021 (+20%).

  • The positivity rate is rising, at 5.0% (compared to 4.5% in week 10 of 2021). Among asymptomatic individuals tested, this rate is 3.1%, compared to 12.9% among symptomatic individuals.

  • In week 11, the testing rate increased to 3,207 tests per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to 3,003 per 100,000 inhabitants in week 10.
