COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Nouvelle-Aquitaine as of February 18, 2021

A slowdown in the spread of SARS-CoV-2 is observed in the region, with a decrease in the incidence rate and positivity rate for the second consecutive week.
In week 06-2021 (February 8–14), the number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases declined, with 6,796 new confirmed cases in the region. The incidence rate reached 113.3 per 100,000 residents, a decrease of 27% compared to the previous week.
The positivity rate is also down compared to last week, at 4.2% in Week 06 (4.9% in Week 05). Among asymptomatic individuals tested, this rate is 2.6% (3.1% in Week 05), compared to 9.9% among symptomatic individuals (10.9% in Week 05).
In Week 06, the testing rate declined, with 2,724 tests performed per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to 3,201 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 05.
