Key Points

Influenza and Flu-Like Illness

  • After thirteen weeks of the flu epidemic, Normandy is entering the post-epidemic phase. All indicators, both in the community and in hospitals, are declining and beginning to approach pre-epidemic baseline levels.

  • The A (H1N1), A (H3N2), and B/Victoria strains are still circulating simultaneously. Their detection rates are declining in community laboratories and hospitals.

  • The proportion of deaths with influenza listed as a cause among electronically certified deaths is also decreasing but remains at a moderate level compared to previous epidemics.

Acute Gastroenteritis

  • Community activity indicators for acute gastroenteritis are rising sharply this week, particularly among those under 15 years of age.

  • Hospital activity is slightly decreasing but remains at a high level.
