Health Surveillance in the Alsace Region. Epidemiological Update as of January 5, 2012.
Key Points
There is currently no flu outbreak in Alsace or in mainland France.
A decline in the number of bronchiolitis cases diagnosed by the SOS Médecins associations in Strasbourg and Mulhouse has been observed over the past two weeks. The peak of the outbreak therefore appears to have been reached in week 52. The same trend is being observed by the GROG network in Northern France.
The Sentinelles France network detected an increase in the number of acute diarrhea cases seen in clinics during week 52, causing the epidemic threshold for the Alsace region to be exceeded. This is not currently observable in the activity of the regional SOS Médecins associations.
