Health Surveillance in Brittany. Epidemiological Update as of February 25, 2015.

Epidemiological indicators show that the 2014–2015 flu season peaked during weeks 6 and 7 of 2015 in Brittany. It should be noted that the possibility of a second peak cannot be ruled out, as was the case with the resurgence observed during the winter of 2012–2013. As in previous weeks, the mortality recorded by civil registry offices—for all ages and among those aged 75 and older—exceeds the threshold values. Since early 2015, an initial estimate of winter mortality across all age groups shows that it is 13% higher than the expected mortality calculated based on the previous four years. These initial assessments should be interpreted with caution, as the episode is not yet over and the data are not yet consolidated due to the usual delays in data transmission.
