Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • The prevalence of RSV is low.

  • Bronchiolitis-related activity among children under 2 years of age is approximately 4% in S15 (vs. 5.8% in S-1) among emergency department visits and is less than 1% in S15 (vs. 2% in S-1) for SOS Médecins.

  • During the 2024–2025 season (from Week 40–2024 to Week 15–2025), 60 cases of bronchiolitis (< 2 years) were reported by pediatric intensive care units in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

Influenza

  • Influenza activity is low.

  • Emergency room visits for influenza across all age groups and SOS Médecins interventions are at a low level.

  • During the 2024–2025 season (from S40-2024 to S15-2025), 105 severe cases of influenza (all ages) were reported by the sentinel intensive care unit network.

COVID-19

  • The SARS-CoV-2 virus is circulating at low levels in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, as in other regions.

  • The proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins and emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 remains low.

  • During the 2024–2025 season (from S40-2024 to S15-2025), 39 severe cases of COVID-19 (all ages) were reported by the sentinel intensive care unit network.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Activity related to gastroenteritis remains high and exceeds the levels observed in previous seasons during the same period in S15 by 1.8% (vs. 1.8% in S-1) for emergency departments and by 8.5% (vs. 8.9% in S-1) for SOS Médecins.

  • A downward trend is beginning to emerge (all ages). For children under 5, the trend remains upward regardless of the data source.
