Leptospirosis 

• Inter-epidemic period, low circulation. To date, 235 autochthonous cases have been reported.

 Chikungunya, Dengue 

• No active circulation of the chikungunya and dengue viruses. In 2026, 55 cases of chikungunya and 331 cases of dengue were reported.  

Flu-like illness 

• Hospital health indicators (emergency department visits and hospitalizations for flu-like illness and acute lower respiratory tract infections) are declining. 

Bronchiolitis in children under 1 year of age 

• Health indicators are on the decline. 

Acute gastroenteritis (AGE) 

• Hospital indicators have remained stable over the past three weeks. 

Smallpox B (Mpox)

• In 2026, 28 cases of Mpox were reported in Réunion, including 5 locally acquired cases. In July, 2 cases were reported, and 3 since the beginning of August, but all with an onset date in June.
