In the Indian Ocean region, six weeks after the start of the school year in Réunion, the number of emergency department visits for asthma among children under 15, as well as their share of total activity, is on the rise (57 visits and 4.9% in S38 vs. 39 visits and 3.6% in S37). The observed level is lower than that of the previous three years (2018, 2019, and 2020) during the same period. The proportion of hospitalizations following emergency department visits has risen to 28%. Nationally, at the end of the third week of school in mainland France, emergency department visits for asthma among children under 15 have stabilized (3,125 visits in S38 versus 3,121 in S37). Visits remain on the rise within the SOS Médecins network (+19%, or +109 visits). The levels observed remain comparable to those of the past three years for the time being.
