Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of April 3, 2014.

Over the past week in the region:

  • The flu outbreak in the region is coming to an end, with only a few isolated cases of the flu virus remaining, but the number of doctor visits for flu-like symptoms has fallen below epidemic thresholds;

  • The gastroenteritis outbreak observed by SOS Médecins has ended, and the number of acute gastroenteritis outbreaks in nursing homes has decreased.

In summary, this marks the end of a relatively quiet winter season in terms of flu and gastroenteritis outbreaks. The bronchiolitis outbreak was particularly significant in terms of duration and the number of hospitalized cases. A report will be published this fall in a regional BVS.
